Description:
**Due to the COVID19 response, starting in September 2021, we will be offering each age-related peer grief support groups one time a month in person and one time a month virtually. In person locations are Arlington Heights, Libertyville, Chicago, and Bannockburn. Groups are for children, teens, young adults, who have lost a parent or a sibling, and adults who have lost a spouse or child.**
Provides peer grief support groups to children, teens, and adults who have lost a parent or a sibling, spouse, or child. In-person groups are held in Arlington Heights, Libertyville, Chicago, and Bannockburn. Also offers other grief support services and resources that include:
- A Survivors of Suicide Loss support group in Bannockburn
- Workshops & professional development Presentations such as "How to support Children's Grief"
- Clinical referrals for specialized supportive services
- Expressive arts group, once a month in Bannockburn
- School & community services, including in-school programs, crisis intervention, consultation, and professional development
Eligibility:
Must be individuals or families who have lost a parent, sibling, spouse, or child. For the Survivors of Suicide support group, must have any relationship to the person who has passed.
