Description:

Recruits and trains volunteers to serve as advocates for children in foster care. Volunteers are matched to a child in need and provide them with stability and support. Volunteer responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the child's safety, well-being, and basic needs are met while in foster care
- Advocating for the child during court proceedings
- Monitoring child's educational progress
- Advocating for the child until they are placed in a permanent home

Eligibility:

For Advocacy Services:
- Foster children must be 21 years of age or younger and referred by the Lake County Superior Courts

For Volunteer Advocates:
- Must be 25 years of age or older
- Must pass a thorough background check, screening process, and successfully complete the 40-hour training course

Advocacy services: No fee
Required 40-hour training for volunteers: $50 course fee
