Description:

Matches trained volunteers with children who have become dependents of the Lake County Superior Courts. CASA volunteers function as mentors and advocates. They ensure the child's needs are being met and represent the best interests of the child.
Volunteer activities include:
- Regular visits
- Assessment of the child's situation
- Advocating on behalf of the child to the court
Eligibility:
To become a volunteer advocate:
- Must be 25 years of age or older.
- Must pass a thorough background check and screening process and successfully complete a 40-hour training course.
For advocacy services:
- Must be 18 years of age or younger and dependents of the Lake County Superior Courts

Program Fees:
Advocacy services: no fee.
40-hour training course for new volunteers: $50 training fee.
