Description:
Provides free legal assistance to at-risk survivors living in north suburban Cook County and Lake County. Offers assistance with:
- Emergency Relief
- Family Law Matters
- Orders of Protection (Emergency/Plenary) against intimate partners, former intimate partners, roommates, former roommates, people with whom you have a child in common, and people to whom you are related.
- Family Law Matters representing survivors of domestic violence in divorce and parental allocation proceedings (for people who are not married but have children in common).
- Divorce and Parentage/Allocation of Parental Responsibilities and Parenting Plans
-Child Support and Spousal Maintenance
- Allocation and Support Modifications when domestic violence is present.
- Immigration (Violence Against Women Act Self-Petition, U Visa, & T Visa)
- Housing (Safe Homes Act)
- Safety Plans
- Social Services
Eligibility:
Must be individuals living or working in Lake County, IL who are at or below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level to receive private legal assistance on immigration issues
