Description:
Provides individuals with disabilities the opportunity to be involved in community programs. Provides accommodations for youth, teens, and adults to participate in the following:
- General recreation programs
- Sports and aquatics
- Day programs (adults only)
- Special Olympics and other special events
- Cultural events
- Weekend trips
Eligibility:
- Must be a resident of Waukegan or Zion, six years of age or older and have a cognitive or physical
disability
- If participant requires transportation services, must reside in Waukegan Park District boundaries

Program Fees:
Fees vary, depending on program and residency
Intake Process:
- Call to schedule an assessment for inclusion services
- A minimum of three weeks' notice is required prior to the start of the program to arrange appropriate accommodations

Volunteer Opportunities:
1. Waukegan Park District Special Events offered to community throughout the year - assist with event activities such as games, crafts, traffic, parking and participant line control.
2. Specific Special Recreation program volunteer opportunities available per season - Assist with activity implementation and/or participants with specific task related to program offering.
We accept volunteers who are court mandated to complete community service.
