Description:
Offers a 24-month holistic residential program for trafficked mothers and their young children. Service and assistance includes:
- Independent Living
- Safety (confidential location)
- Basic needs
- Individualized therapeutic programming
- Financial literacy
- Health and wellness
- Spirituality
- Parenting
- Relationships
- Trauma and addiction recovery
- Education and job preparation
Child-care and therapeutic options available for children while their mothers receive services.
Eligibility:
Adult women (age 18 and older), emancipated minors, or in foster care under DCFS guardianship with one or more children in custody OR with a confirmed pregnancy and plans to keep the baby.
Must be Lake County resident.
In addition, client must meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Self identifies as being sex trafficked currently or in the past
- Has engaged in sex for survival to provide for her children
- Individual or child are being sexually exploited and is at high risk of being trafficked
- Is not self-identifying, but Stepping Stones Network or referring agency has evidence of the client being trafficked
Client must also be:
- English speaking (other applicants will be referred)
- Willing to actively participate in building a new life and moving toward economic independence
- Capable of living independently and keeping children safe
- 30 days sober or have completed rehab or 30-day trafficking assessment program AND willing to live a drug- and alcohol-free lifestyle and submit to random testing (applies to individuals with history of substance addiction)
