Host Family Program

Description:

Provides temporary housing for children while parents are in an emergency situation. Places children with Host Families that have been screened and trained. Aims to provide stabilization and prevent children from entering foster care. Emergency situations include:
Hospitalizations
- Lack of childcare
- DCFS involvement
- Addiction recovery programs
- Homelessness
- Incarceration

Note: This is NOT a child care or foster care facility.

Eligibility:

- Must be families with children under 18 years of age and who are in emergency crises
- Must be a parent(s) who still have custody of their children
- Must not not have relatives who are able to care for their children
