Description:
Provides free or low-cost medical benefits for individuals and families with limited incomes. Primary services offered through Medicaid are physician, hospital, and long term care. Additional coverage includes:
- Prescriptions
- Medical equipment and transportation
- Family planning
- Laboratory tests and x-rays
Also covers dental care which includes preventive and diagnostic services.
Eligibility:
To qualify for medical assistance a person must meet financial eligibility criteria, residency requirements and in most cases must be citizens (except for children).

- Photo ID
- Proof of residency
- Social Security Number - Social Security card for all persons requesting more than emergency care
