Description:

Offers a nine week culinary training course to teach students the skills needed to enter the foodservice workforce. Provides training on food preparation, sanitation, communication skills, and proper use of equipment. Students will receive the ANSI accredited Food Handler Certification at the end of the course.

Provides struggling individuals who live in the community with the skills needed to enter the foodservice workforce through hands-on culinary training which includes:

- Food preparation
- Sanitation
- Scaling recipes
- Labeling
- Juicing,
- Packaging
- Kitchen communication skills
- Proper use of equipment

Eligibility:

Must be a Lake County resident ages 18 years or older

Volunteer Opportunities:

Emergency Food Rescue packing/sorting/distribution - Help distribute hundreds of pounds of food with families in need. Assist with heavy lifting, sorting and packing rescued prepared food into meals for hungry Lake County residents.

Emergency Support Driver - Help deliver emergency food and resources to Lake County families in need.

Afterschool Youth Program - Provide a safe, welcoming place for at-risk Lake County children to find help with homework, fun crafts, sewing, and exercise, healthy snacks and, making connections with neighborhood kids.
