Description:
Provides academic support for college-bound high schools students who come from disadvantaged backgrounds. This includes students who are low-income, first-generation, or have a disability. Offers the following services to support the students' successful transition to college:
Academic advising
Academic and personal development workshops
Tutoring and mentoring
Career exploration and shadowing
ACT/SAT preparation
College visits
College application and essay-writing
Financial aid and FAFSA completion
Financial literacy assistance and support
TRIO is a federally-funded outreach and student service program designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.
