Description:
Arranges private air transportation for patients needing to get to or from medical treatment and cannot travel commercially. A doctor must certify that the patient is stable and seeking treatment that is not available in the area.
Eligibility:
- Must be a resident of Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, or Indiana
- Must be cleared by a doctor for travel in a small aircraft without in-flight medical personnel or critical care equipment
- Can arrange travel east of the Rocky Mountains

1. Volunteer Pilots - Wings of Mercy operates with an all-volunteer team of pilots who lend their time, talent and often their planes to the cause. For safety, every flight requires two experienced, IFR-certified pilots and an approved aircraft for the trip.
