Description:

Provides emergency financial assistance to help township residents alleviate life-threatening circumstances. Individuals must have an eviction notice or utility disconnection to receive aid.

**Serves residents of Waukegan Township and Shields Township**

Eligibility:

- Must be a resident of Waukegan Township or Shields Township
- May not have Section 8 or subsidized housing; Must be paying full market-value rent
- Must be able to document financial hardship
- Must be able to demonstrate ongoing ability to pay after EA is granted

Intake Process:

Call to schedule an appointment

Documents required:
- EA application (provided during appointment)
- Proof of income for past 30 days
- Evidence of hardship (mechanic invoice, time lost off the job, hospitalization, police report, etc..)
- Lease agreement/past due notice for rental assistance (must have landlord contact information)
- Disconnection notice for utility assistance
- Insurance card for prescription assistance
