Description:

Provides day services for adults with Intellectual & developmental disabilities, autism, and seniors. A community support team will develop a !€œPerson Centered Plan!€ to help set and achieve goals based on strengths, needs and preferences. Clients are also supported by a full-time nurse to ensure their health and wellness needs are met throughout the day.

Each day clients engage with a variety of activities that can include:
- Community-based recreation experiences
- Employment skills training
- Life skills building
- Health and wellness activities
- Volunteer opportunities at local organizations
- Community Engagement

The program is designed to:
- Enhance self-advocacy
- Boost communication and independence
- Help ease community integration

Also offers daily living skills:
- Cooking
- Music
- Community planning
- Physical fitness
- Learning about rights, responsibilities and relationships

Also offers opportunity to take part in:
- Special Olympics
- Recreational programs on weeknights and weekends.
- The Me Program
- The Bright Program

Eligibility:

Developmental Training requires no minimum of skill development for entry into the program, however certain criteria do apply:

- Individuals must be at least eighteen years old
- Must have a DSM 5 diagnosis of an intellectual or developmental disability with a demonstrated deficit in one of more areas of independent living
- Full scale IQ 70 or below using a recognized psychological test
- Meet Pioneer Center for Human Services Admission requirements.
- Complete a situational assessment

Factors of ineligibility may include, but are not limited to, exceptional medical care, significant 1:1 staffing needs, significant physical aggression, self-injurious behavior, and criminal history.
