Description:

Provides temporary financial aid to help township residents with living expenses. Provides up to $1000 monthly for individuals and up to $1500 for families. Funds must be used for rent/mortgage, utilities, or medical expenses. Aid is provided temporarily while resident finds employment or receives disability decision.

Eligibility:

- Must be a resident of Ela Township
- Must not be receiving TANF or SSI benefits

- Proof of residency
- Mortgage payments
- Proof of income from the past 2 months before application
- Birth certificates and Social Security Card for each member in the household
- Valid ID for each member in the household over 16

- Records of Social Security Benefits
- Copy of applications to other agencies
- Bank account records
- Vehicle titles/Registration
- Marriage Licenses/Death Certificates
- Physician Statements
- All utility bills
