Description:

Offers furniture pick up & drop-off for a suggested donation amount to provide to people in need with a free furniture provision.

Note:
All pickups require at least a week to schedule and flexible timing based on trucks availability. All drop-offs require an initial call to ensure a quick unloading of items.
This program does not provide free furniture directly to the public, must have a caseworker to qualify.

Eligibility:

Items Accepted:
- Mattresses and box springs (twin, full, queen, king)
- Bed frames (metal, quick and easy to disassemble with no hardware)
- Assembled Cribs
- Sofas / couches / loveseats / futons
- Armchairs and other seating
- Dining / kitchen chairs
- Dressers
- Tables: kitchen tables, end tables, bedside tables, etc.
- Mirrors, artwork, rugs
- Household items: small appliances, dishes, utensils, glassware, pots & pans
- Small desks

Items Not Accepted:
- Large sectional couches
- Wooden bed frames
- Headboards
- Trundle / bunkbeds
- Sleeper sofas
- Large bookshelves
- China cabinets / buffets / armoires
- Entertainment centers / large TV stands
- Outdoor furniture
- Pianos
- Electronics
- Large appliances
- Linens / "soft goods!€
- Clothes
- Exercise / sports equipment
- Large office furniture

NOTE: All drop off donations still must meet the criteria specified above.

Fees Vary:
To help cover the cost of the truck and labor, suggested donations are as follows:
- Easy ($100-$150): 1 large item + a few small items
- Medium ($150-$200): 2-3 large items
- Hard ($200-$250): 4-5 large items
- Extra Hard ($250-$350): 6-7 larger items
- Full Estate/Multi-Room ($400-$600): 8 or more large items

All furniture and financial donations are tax deductible.

Intake Process:

Request a Pick-up:
- Fill out the "Furniture Pickup Request Form" online at: https://www.chicagofurniturebank.org/pickups.
- Once completed, please send photos of the items directly to donate@chicagofurniturebank.org and reference which pickup request they are attached to.
- You will be contacted once form is received to schedule an appointment within 1-2 business days.
