Description:

Provides one-time annual grants, with no requirement to be paid back, to qualified Nicor residential customers who meet the required income guidelines. Eligible customers can receive a Sharing Grant up to $500 based on the overall account balance on the account. Offers application assistance to eligible families, disable households, veterans and those in crisis assistance to sign up for Nicor residential heating customers.

Eligibility:

To qualify, the total households income must fall between 150 and 250 percent of the poverty level, as defined by the Federal Department of Health and Human Services. Applicants must also be ineligible for State or Federal energy assistance programs (CEDA or LIHEAP).

*Must be Waukegan, North Chicago, Park City, Beach Park, Gurnee, or Zion

NOTE: Eligibility is based on gross monthly income for all household members combined.
