Description:

Matches trained volunteers with children who have become dependents of the Lake County Superior Courts. CASA volunteers function as mentors and advocates. They ensure the child's needs are being met and represent the best interests of the child.

Volunteer activities include:
- Regular visits
- Assessment of the child's situation
- Advocating on behalf of the child to the court

Eligibility:

For Advocacy Services:
- Must be 21 years of age or younger and dependents of the Lake County Superior Courts

For Volunteer Advocates:
- Must be 25 years of age or older
- Must pass a thorough background check, screening process and successfully complete the 40-hour training course

Program Fees:

Advocacy services: No fee
Volunteers, required 40-hour training course: $50 training fee
